Porque é que quero ser professor? Bem, isso é uma questão que tem uma resposta fácil. Para mim, desde a escola secundária, tenho querido influenciar as futuras gerações, mas isso é apenas uma parte da minha resposta. Talvez seja um pouco egoista, mas quero ter um emprego que gostarei, que vou disfrutar. Eu sei que não se pode ter tudo, e não desejo ter tudo, mas também acho que com muito esforço, é possível ter muito, e uma coisa que sem dúvida quero ter, é um bom emprego. Desde iniciei os meus estudos portugueses, sabia que era a minha paixão. A gramática, a estrutura linguística, tudo, adorava. É excitante saber que um dia terei a oportunidade de trabalhar com línguas estrangeiras, de trabalhar com estudantes jóvens. É excitante saber que um dia eu vou trabalhar como professor.

I agree with your reasons for wanting to be a teacher. I feel the same way, but about English and I'm excited to be able to teach it to students one day.

Look at you Mr. Fancy pants translator. The only thing I disagree with is I don't feel like it's selfish to want to have a good job that you love. I think if one works hard enough teaching can be that job. It's a rewarding profession and in a weird maybe vain way I like knowing I'm making a difference. For me it's not just about teaching but imparting on a student that want to learn and explore. I love poetry and I have to admit it's a dying art. A goal of mine is to try to integrate it into classrooms more and more and show students that its not so boring and difficult. I think teaching is a great canvas to play around with your passions.
